WHEY PROTEIN ISOLATE

How It Works

Have you ever finished a workout only to run to a meeting or meet up with friends?

If you have, I bet you noticed that at about an hour and a half after your workout, your stomach starts talking to your brain and saying something like, “1 plate of crispy hot french fries, EAT IT. 5 slices of pizza, GO FOR IT. An entire chocolate cake. WHY NOT??”

This is what we call “post workout see-food conundrum.” You see food. You want to eat it.

This is a place we definitely want to avoid Post workout, our body wants and needs only two things: Protein and Carbs. When taken together after working out, this super team gets right to work doing three things:


1 - Sends a message to our brain that we have proper nutrition.

Your cravings are erased and you can safely walk by the pizza shop.

2 - Delivers protein to our muscles.

When we exercise, our muscles break down to provide our body with energy so we can run, lift, bike, and so on. Once the workout is complete, our muscles begin a repairing process to replenish themselves. The most important ingredient in this repairing process is protein.

Going without or taking too little protein cuts the process short and leaves us waking up sore or sluggish in the morning.

3 - Builds lean muscle mass.

Our muscles are made up of 25% protein and 75% water.

Considering this is such an important nutrient, when we don’t get enough protein, our body goes into “hibernation mode.” What this simply means is our body will store more fat, slow our metabolism, and require more rest.

But when we do have the proper amount of protein, our body functions like a well oiled machine. We digest food quickly and easily, keep low levels of excess fat on our body, and our energy levels go through the roof.

How do carbs fit into this equation?

As mentioned above our body needs and wants two things post workout: Protein & Carbs.

At this point, you understand why our body wants protein, but you’re probably still curious about the carbs.

Our muscles, while amazing, have no way of getting the protein from our stomach into our cells. This is where carbs come in. Carbs act as little taxis that pick up protein at our belly and drop them off at muscles.


When & How to Use It

Strengthlete Repair should be used within 45 minutes after completing your workout. For best results, mix with a beverage high in carbohydrates in a shaker cup.

Some Super Sciency Stuff

Repair is a source of protein derived exclusively from Whey Protein Isolate (WPI) that provides one of the highest percentages of protein per serving, minimal carbohydrates and zero fat. Even more, the product is lactose-free, very low in sodium and has no cholesterol.

Like many whey products, Whey Protein Isolate is produced by removing Sweet Whey from cheese curd, then subjected to methods that remove the remaining cheese "fines," pasteurized, and the fat content is removed by centrifugal separation. Following this pretreatment, the fluid raw material may then be processed into Whey Protein Isolate using one of two methods:

  1. Ion Exchange (IE) -- which is followed by concentration and spray drying -- is a process very similar to that used for the production of "soft" water.
  2. Microfiltration followed by Ultrafiltration (MF/UF) -- and then spray dried -- incorporates a pressure driven membrane filtration which is comprised of two "molecular sieves". This process removes differing components in various steps and is then concentrated to achieve the desired product.

The two methods differ in production by the composition of the proteins found in the respective forms of Whey Protein Isolate. When compared to the MF/UF method, the IE method results in the loss of significant certain protein fractions.

For this reason, Strengthlete Repair uses Whey Protein Isolate produced only by MF/UF methods. WPI offers an effective means of supplementing the diet with a source of protein that has an excellent Protein Efficiency Ratio (PER) and Biological Value (BV) available.

And, due to the natural bland taste of WPI, it offers a very good tasting, versatile form of protein that may be used to create an endless number of protein shakes and smoothies.

Repair is naturally sweetened with Stevia and uses flavor systems guaranteed to be free of MSG and other Exitotoxins.
